Australian rockers Wolfmother have announced a special one-off performance at London’s indigo2 at the O2 on Friday 6 July. Hotly tipped Bristol four-piece Turbowolf have been confirmed as support.

SONISPHERE POLAND OFFER

We have been given a limited allocation of Sonisphere Poland tickets to offer free of charge to UK Sonisphere fans. 3,000 of you came in 2010 for the first ever Tourist Offer and it turned into quite a party. This year’s event is in the same town, at the same site, in the same place and the beer prices are still cheap as chips (which are also pretty cheap).

Happening on the 10th May in Bemowo Airport, in Warsaw. Sonisphere Poland has a really hard hitting lineup – featuring Metallica, Black Label Society, Gojira, Acid Drinkers, Hunter, Luxtorpeda.

Sonisphere Knebworth is cancelled

It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012.

Putting the festival together in what is proving to be a very challenging year was more difficult than we anticipated and we have spent the last few months fighting hard to keep Sonisphere in the calendar. Unfortunately circumstances have dictated that we would be unable to run the festival to a standard that both the artists and that Sonisphere’s audience would rightly expect.

We want to express our deepest regrets to the artists and to thank all the staff, suppliers and contractors who worked so hard with us to try and pull off what has proven to be an impossible task and we know how much they share in our disappointment. We also want to send a huge thanks to the Sonisphere fans who stuck by us and we are so sorry that we can’t fulfil what we set out to do.

Ticket holders will automatically receive a full refund direct from their ticket agents.

Kiss aim to “blow you out of the water”

Ahead of their exclusive European set at Sonisphere at Knebworth and a double headline tour of the US with Motley Crue, Kiss are promising better shows than they’ve ever delivered before.

“What we’re hoping for is whatever people’s expectations are, we blow them out of the water,” Kiss’s Paul Stanley told Rolling Stone , as they announced their US tour. “I want people to hope for the legend that they’ve heard about and find out it’s greater than that. I think that the longer we’re around the more invincible we become.”

“I want people to leave and go, so this is what rock & roll is. It’s dangerous, it’s loose, it’s not perfect. So whatever pop artist you see dancing around on a stage lip synching, that’s a con game and that’s not a live concert. If you want karaoke, go to a karaoke bar.”

Fear not, some things about Kiss won’t change though.

“Come out, we’ll blow shit up, go home and fuck your girlfriend, that’s it,” promises Gene Simmons.

Johnny Depp on Marilyn Manson Album

The sneering God of Boff was talking to MTV’s Joel Dommett and has dropped the bombshell that Johnny Depp is playing drums and lead guitar on his new album Born Villian.

Speaking of their collaboration – rumoured to be a cover of Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain singer revealed: “We did a cover version together of a song which we thought was ironic for each other,”.

Manson continued: “He played drums and lead guitar, and I played guitar and sang. It’s a bonus track on my record and the video will probably be us looking at each other like a mirror.
